We hope you had a stupendous sunny bank holiday, looks like that Monster Summer has finally got going!
We can now announce the chosen artists from our shortlist of 100:
The 10 new artists hosted by BBC Introducing in Oxford on the new “Veterans & Virgins” stage will be:
Ags Connolly / Beta Blocker & the Body Clock / Duchess / King of Cats / Von Braun / Jordan O’Shea / Traps / Truly Ford / Elephant Shampoo / Grudle Ba
Chosen by Big Scary Monsters / Alcopop to join the Barn bill are Falls & Dallas Don’t, while sinking a few whiskies with the Clubhouse Records gang in the Saloon will be: Empty White Circles / Sam Green & the Midnight Heist / Pete Kosanovich / The Ramshackle Union Band / The Spare Room / Swindlestock.
The main stage will see debut Truck performances by Arrows of Love, Lillian Todd Jones and Candice Gordon.
We would again like to thank everybody who applied, it’s been a very interesting process to see just how much great music is out there (answer: a lot)!
We think that we and our panel have chosen a decent selection for you. As promised, we have one more Truck stage slot to offer and it is down to you to choose it; head back to the Band App on our Facebook page, which is now live again, and you’ll have the chance to choose one act from the list that you think we should have included.
Assuming they are able and available to play, this Truckers’ Choice act will be the last one added to the bill!
Elsewhere, digging out their late-90s Truck T-shirts on the Veterans stage, we are pleased to confirm Rachael Dadd with Ichi, Katy Rose & The Cavalry Parade and Co-Pilgrim, all of them doubtless relieved they no longer have to sweep out the barn stage before the festival. They join the likes of Electric Soft Parade, Fonda 500, Luke Smith and Thomas Truax.
Meanwhile, joining the Saloon bill to show the newbies the way are experienced whiskey-drinkers Danny George Wilson, Jason Serious, The Shapes and Siblings, who will keep the party going alongside birthday boys The Original Rabbit Foot Spasm Band and The Dreaming Spires, The Epstein, Society, Troubadour Rose and more. We are also glad to welcome Marvellous Medicine to the Big Top, and pleased to say that the Kingdom of Jamalot will also be returning. Marvellous!
Yup, it’s shaping up nicely; the new stages will shortly be added to the Line-up Planner, making your ask of who to see when even more challenging. But don’t worry, you can re-do your line-up plan at any time and as many times as you want.
Do you choose the heavyweight 18-wheelers like Spiritualized, Ash and The Horrors, or explore the side-roads? it’s up to you!
and don’t forget to make time to enjoy our Food & Beer Festivals – man (and woman) can’t live on music alone.
More info soon on all the other fun stuff that will be going on at the festival for all ages: we can assure you there won’t be a dull moment.
See you at Hill Farm in LESS THAN 2 MONTHS!!!
Love from all at Truck HQ x
