THE NEST IS ALIVE
As we said way back last year, 2016 will see the introduction of a brand new stage to house our lovely noisy bands! Well it’s only bloody here…
We ran a big competition to name our stage and unlike the NERC Boaty McBoatface debacle, we stuck to the most popular result! We had an awesome response with over 3000 of you voting, there was a clear winner with 84% of you voting for Alice Berkeley’s suggestion.
So, without further ado our new stage will be called… THE NEST!
You probably want to know what THE NEST has got in store for you. Friday is shaping up to be quite the day with the massively popular and awesomely epic Neck Deep bringing the day to a close with what no doubt will be one of the sets of the weekend. Friday will also see one of the most talked about bands of the year in Moose Blood, returning heroes Lonely The Brave, as well as the brilliant Creeper, Black Peaks and Monarks!
Saturday sees one of our favourite magazines and Truck collaborators So Young Magazine take over THE NEST and it’s going to be BIG. Headliners Basement are probably one of the biggest bands in the UK currently, with 2016’s brilliant Promise Everything currently being played on repeat at TRUCK HQ, we’ll see you down the front. The Nest will also be coughing up the most secretive of sets from IAN, be sure to step up for the cool cats! Spring King will be bringing one of the most high tempo and sweaty sets you’re likely to see, ever! They’ll be joined by the raucous Public Access TV, triple J favourites Tired Lion, the best band to come out of Chichester past present and future TRAAMS, Fat White Family’s tour buddies shame, The UK’s answer to Black Lips (and probably the most questionable google search) Virgin Kids and the must hear band of the weekend Shark Dentist – they’re so good we had to use their song for our line up announcement!
Alcopop! & BSM make their yearly trip down the road to Truck Festival and bring with them a suitcase of buddies who’ll no doubt prove a fitting end to the weekend that THE NEST deserves. Sunday will see one of our all time favourite bands We Are The Ocean headline, Brighton’s radical Gnarwolves, the super-brilliantly dope VANT, Truck legends Johnny Foriegner, Kent’s finest Get Inuit. As well as the rad OH BOY!, Oxford’s very own Cassels and Happy Accidents (you gotta check these kids out and bring your scooter!)
If you’re all as excited as us about this and you need to sit down with a cool flannel on your head, click here to purchase some tickets and party on down!
Lots of Love
